Depression! Not just!

What’s with her? I asked pointing to a girl who was lost in her own space and was not even aware of the puppy who was licking her feet. They laughed and replied “she is just depressed.”                                                   JUST DEPRESSED. I doubt whether people really know what depression is? Had they been knowing how it deteriorates a normal being, they would definitely not call it “just depression.” Not going to scientific level, depression is confining someone in a room, with no windows, no sound, no light, and no other human. Likewise, depression is the stage of no hopes, no dreams, no believes, no desires and no life. It’s that serious an issue.

To all the people who are depressed for some reason-                                                       I know how it pains in the chest every morning you wake up and find that you are still alive. I know the hopelessness when you can’t figure out what is wrong with you. I know when you feel helpless because you don’t know what you need help for. I know when one day you can feel everything and the other day you feel nothing at all.

I know how you want to cry all day and night but not a single tear drop exits your eye. I know how it is when you are sitting, thinking and doing nothing and suddenly you feel tears striking your face. But trust me, it’s not your fault. It’s just a phase, and it will paas. Be with ones who love you. Hold onto them. Don’t be alone.

I really know the pain of being alive without knowing the reason. I know the irritation when people continuously complain about you being a sadist, a killjoy, a non enthusiastic person anymore. I know how it kills you when the people you need the most understand you the least.

Guys! These depressed people don’t need your sympathy, they need your support. Depression is fatal. It kills a person who is still breathing. Don’t laugh at them, instead prove your humor in making them laugh. And if your loved one is trapped, please let him/her know how much he is needed, loved and wanted. Please do little things to make him/her feel special. Little things occupy the biggest spaces in heart when done at the right time.

The person sliding to an invisible black hole needs a little light to come out before he gets comfortable there.

Helping someone come out of depression is like giving them a second life. Depression is not sadness, but it’s feeling nothing.

Wow… I am speechless. And dumbstruck. It hit me at the very correct point in my brain and woke all my numb nerves. I don’t feel very happy after reading this, because I know it is an effort from the person who is herself in slight shadow of depression (I hope it’s slight). I am proud of you. Not for WRITING this. But for writing THIS. You don’t even know how much it’s going to help others. For people like me, who are not in depression, it is a lesson as to how we should behave with people who are in depression. And for people who are actually facing it, it’s a motivation.

I am very very proud of you. I am really overwhelmed right now. I love you. Thank-you so much 😘😃

True that be. People choose to refuse depression as something serious. It is nearly fatal. And it takes people a lot of struggle to come out of it.
Your comment means a lot. And also, welcome back. Good to have your presence here. 🙂

Thanks for picking a very relevant yet renegade topic…the hopelessness and helplessness associated with depression can ultimately lead not only to mental loss of a person but also a physical loss in the form of ending one’s life…sadly people got to get help mostly for physical illness only and avoid going to a psychiatrist or a psychotherapist due to certain taboo attached to it…we can save many lives as treatment for these illnesses are there….we need to educate the society for this…by the way Sigmund Freud has rightly said there is some mental illness in all of us…so better watch who claim to be mentally healthy…😊😊😊😊

This is sooo me….. I’m crying now…. Amazing and thanks for understanding. Depression is like dying inside. Carrying a dead body inside. It rots and weighs you down till you fall and crash

Hello mam! I am so sad to hear about your daughter. Please make her indulge in all that she loves. Drawing, painting, singing etc. Whatever it is. And please continue the medical help. I will surely pray that she improves.

Oh btw, Bhavika! 😀 I made a post in January, sharing a gif I made to make people more strong when in relation to depression, more into the tough side when they don’t feel like willing. I wasn’t feeling that awesome at that time and I thought this gif which I made during that moment would be positively benefical to others also experiencing my situation 🙂 Thought I share it with you since its related to depression 🙂 https://dwquotes.wordpress.com/2017/01/30/keep-strong-%e2%98%b9/

Loved it, its really truly the great deed to help someone out of depression. Depression is one state that one slides into slowly without knowing. Saving them is just realising how much you care about them.

Funny thing is when you help your friends through depression and then realize you have it, too. Not haha funny, interesting-how-the-universe-works funny.

Came across an article on smiling depression the other day, wished I’d saved it. The worst thing with depression is even when you know what’s wrong, how to label it etc. it’s still hard (sometimes impossible) to get back on track. And the more you tell yourself to get over it, the angrier you get at yourself if and when you don’t manage to. But if you can ask for help from friends, you’re already halfway there. In my experience at least. Though, of course, everyone has a slightly different story to tell.

I was once like this, mildly depressed. So this particular post resonated within the depths of my soul. It’s never that easy. Everyday, you need to constantly remind yourself to be happy and put away those sad thoughts. But what’s bothering me is how callously people shrug it of as “just depression…” Thanks for posring this!

I hope you have crossed that stage now. It’s definitely one of the most difficult things to do. “living aimlessly”. Yeah! Depression is still one of the most underestimated phenomenon. 😐

In addition to your sensitive suggestions, those suffering from depression should seek medical treatment. Depression is a dangerous illness. It claims lives every year. And life is too precious to be lost. ❤

He is no more because he was bullied at college as well at home!!
I don’t know why people don’t take it serious, instead of making fun why don’t even a single hand can’t come up for help!!
This is a great post!! 👍🏻:(

Mental sickness is often not taken seriously in our country. I don’t know why such patients are mocked or not supported.!
Thankyou so much for acknowledging it! I have tried to pick this subject up on my level.! 😊

It seems to be that depression is an epidemic. I suffer from it and anxiety. It is really crippling and lonely. I feel sympathize for everyone that has to go through it.
