Hey everyone! It’s been a year to my presence on WordPress. This year was beautiful to me in different ways. And WordPress was one major contribution to my happiness. Today, I choose to write about darkness positively. I don’t know why people always make it so negative but to be honest, I LIKE DARKNESS.
There is something about darkness. Something mysterious, something tragic. Something that I want to explore. The undivided peace I find in darkness, is something I don’t find anywhere else. And in darkness, I see true colors of everything, the honest beauty of things and people. And the darkness, it always becomes negative in order to make the writers positive.
And when I told my father that I love darkness, his tears were a proof of his disagreement to my opinions. And he asked me why I love darkness.?? And for the first time I made my voice clearer and started-“Because darkness doesn’t fake. Because it is the way it is and because it dosent decieve. Because it makes me realise my faults, my weakness and my strengths by giving me my share of space. Because darkness brings back the memories of my beloved grandfather who passed away when I was 7.”
There is something terrifying yet amazing about darkness. It is selfless. It is carefree. No matter, how much it is accused it still arrives every night to help people like me to overcome pain.
I hope we can see darkness positively. Because if we can, then light will appear much more beautiful.
Darkness is dearer to me. It’s so beautiful to be put into string of words. Darkness makes me more positive.
Good,
Save power save environment.

I think darkness gets a bad rep, because it’s the opposite of light. But as someone said in the comments above, “darkness let’s tge light shine through.” And too many people (myself included) forget (or tend to forget) the point you raised, that darkness is extremely honest. True light is, too, but it’s more fascinating with darkness. Not sure why that is? The thrill? The forbidden fruit (because we’re all meant to only focus on the light)? Personally, I believe that it takes a truly brave soul to really engage with darkness, not on a superficial level, but go as deep as you can. And that’s the truly scary part.

It’s helpful to read this from someone who is not my daughter who also likes darkness. In a way, I do, too, but not black darkness. I love color. But often, bright light hurts my eyes and gives me a headache. Maybe there are physical and chemical reasons why some people like darkness. But of course, it does help you see the stars. Thanks for following.

Presuming you know Hindi I Remington you a poem that says: ‘Raat jitnihi sangeen hogi, subah utnihi rangeen hogi’ (the darker the night, the more colourful the morn). The lyric also says “Kiske rokey ruka hai savera?” (Who could stop the dawn). Raat batlata hai ki phir subah hogi.

This is my father’s favorite quote “Chand palon ka mehman Andhera, kiske roke ruka hai savera”. But somehow it makes darkness negative and that’s where my point arises. Darkness is not negative, our perspective towards it needs to change. ☺️

Predictive text of the ‘smart’ phone is sometimes too smart …”remind you” becomes ‘Remington’ …only oldies like me know it is a typewriter company.
Yes. So you know that song. Sometimes darkness is more appealing than light, as the distractions of sight will not affect your thinking.

To me darkness is alluring and inviting in it’s mystery. Darkness is just the other side of light.
I like the darkness, it’s quiet, and hides the ugliness, that the daylight exposes. to the crowded cities.

I love your positive spin on darkness. It speaks not just to our perceptions about the negativity often associated with the word but also how we choose to use the light within us to overcome some of the darkness we often face. Thank you for sharing.
